🍗 Chicken Supreme 🍗

Creamy, savory, and topped with golden biscuits—this vintage casserole lives up to its name.

Chicken Supreme is one of those comforting, crowd-pleasing dishes that feels like a Sunday dinner classic. Cream of chicken soup, tender broccoli, tangy pimientos, and buttery biscuits come together in a cozy casserole that’s hard to resist. This 1980s-style bake is pure comfort, with just the right hint of retro magic.

🍽️ Yield: 4 to 5 servings
🔥 Estimated Calories: ~490 per serving
🕰️ Total Time: ~1 hour 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 2½ to 3 lb frying chicken, cut-up
  • 10¾ oz can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup dairy sour cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 oz jar chopped pimiento
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups cooked, drained cut broccoli
  • 7.5 oz can refrigerated Pillsbury Biscuits
  • 1 tablespoon melted Parkay margarine (or butter)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine paprika and pepper; rub over the chicken pieces.
  3. Place chicken, skin side up, in a 13x9 inch baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 55 minutes or until chicken is tender.
  4. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine chicken soup, sour cream, milk, pimiento, and lemon juice. Heat through, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove dish from oven and uncover. Remove chicken pieces and drain any juices from the baking dish.
  6. Pour the soup mixture evenly over the bottom of the dish. Arrange chicken pieces on one side and spoon broccoli over the chicken.
  7. Separate biscuit dough into 10 biscuits. Dip the tops in melted margarine and place them on top of the soup mixture next to the chicken.
  8. Sprinkle biscuits with sesame seeds.
  9. Bake uncovered at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown.
💡 Tip: Try brushing biscuits with garlic butter before baking for an extra flavor kick. You can also use boneless chicken thighs for easier serving.

🍽️ Substitutions & Tips

  • Use boneless, skinless chicken thighs if preferred—reduce initial bake time by 10–15 minutes.
  • Pillsbury Grands biscuits can be used, but may require extra baking time to cook through.
  • Add shredded cheddar cheese over the soup base before placing biscuits for a melty finish.
